Fox River Bed and Breakfast Inn is located adjacent to the Fox River, and four miles from Fox River State Park, in Ottawa, Ill. Canoeing and swimming are popular pastimes along the river, and canoes can be rented within one mile of the inn. Starved Rock State Park, 20 miles from the property, features dense forests and waterfalls that freeze in the winter. Skydive Chicago, five and three quarter miles from the inn, offers skydiving opportunities.
The Victorian farmhouse, built in 1901, is settled on 17 forested acres, and offers two ponds and riverfront access. The inn features antique d?cor and a fireplace that dates back to the 1800's. Full, complimentary breakfasts are served daily, with the signature dish being Breakfast Tacos with Lemon Salsa. Satellite television is available at the inn.
The five guestrooms share a bathroom, and offer unique d?cor, televisions and CD/DVD players. Select units feature satellite television. La Madrid features Spanish d?cor, an antique sleigh bed, high ceilings, a refrigerator and a leaded glass window. The Knotty Pine offers rustic, cabin style d?cor, a refrigerator and a canopy bed. The Tribal Room is decorated with a combination of Native American and African designs, and includes conga and bongo drums.
